Minimum of 1-year experience in medical office reception experience preferred

Position Responsibilities:
Greet patients in person or on the phone
Facilitate patient flow by notifying the provider and /or medical assistant of patients’ arrival, being aware of delays, and communicating with patients and clinical staff
When scheduling appointments, carefully screens patient for patient name, phone, address, date of birth and insurance and update as needed in the EHR, and informs patients of information that must be presented at time of visit
Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording and updating personal and financial information
Verify method of payment for service and runs insurance verifications as needed
Collect and post appropriate co-payments, deductible amounts or service fees upon check out
Schedule any follow up visits as necessary
Call patients daily to confirm next day’s appointment
Perform day-to-day administrative functions and general office duties including but not limited to word processing, copying, filing, faxing, answering phones and data entry
Scan and attach patient related documents within EHR
Maintain patient waiting areas, office files, and front-desk areas in a manner that is organized and neat
Exercise problem-solving and conflict resolution skills when handling patient complaints, refers patient complaints to appropriate designated personnel as needed
Maintain patients’ privacy and company confidentiality protocols in accordance with HIPAA requirements
Participate in company team meetings and training events as requested by supervisor or practice manager
Wear name tag at all times and identifies self on phone
Check office email no less than 2x daily
