Position Responsibilities:
Escort patients to exam rooms, managing efficient patient flow in the office
Complete patient history as directed by the physician
Provide assistance with general medical treatment and make clinical preparations for scheduled medical procedures under the supervision of Medical Doctor, Physician’s Assistant, or Nurse Practitioner
Knowledge of “clean” and “sterile” techniques
EMR charting and scribe physician dictation while in the exam room
Perform routine duties including but not limited to standard stocking of exam rooms, sterilization of instruments, education of patients through written brochures, maintaining neat and sanitary work environment
Work with the supervisor and providers to maintain correct levels and availability of medical supplies
Complete office charge slip with appropriate diagnosis and CPT / procedural code and submit to front desk in a timely manner
Primary job duties are in the back office but may be asked to perform other duties as directed by Practice Administrator or Provider
Cross-training to lateral positions within the company to include, front desk operations, fielding clinical calls and communicating with patients, providers and ancillary facilities
Utilize basic infection control technique and procedures.
Reports any incident or significant changes to clinical supervisor.
Participate in company team meetings and training events as requested by supervisor or practice manager
Maintain patients’ privacy and company confidentiality protocols in accordance with HIPAA requirements
Wear name tag at all times, and identifies self on phone
Check office email no less than 2x daily
